Welcome to Halberton 
 Winner of the CALOR VILLAGE OF THE YEARŽ COMPETITION 2007 for Devon
   Halberton is a large rural Parish in the County of Devon between the towns of Tiverton and Cullompton, close 
to the city of Exeter.  Outside the village are several small communities and the hamlets of Ash Thomas and
Brithem Bottom.  We are also lucky to have The Grand Western Canal which meanders through the Parish 
and is a designated Country Park.

THE LATE MAY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!
This promises to be one of the best weekends ever for the Parish.  We have the Trail Boat Festival taking place on the Mid Devon Showground and on the Grand Western Canal on the Saturday and Sunday with more events happening in the villages - check out the Newsletter for more details, plus more details published here shortly. On the Monday we have the Annual Duck Race taking place on the Village Pond at 12.30pm followed by Meat Roast and more Fun and Games plus stalls at the Village Hall - again check out the Newsletter for more details

NATIONAL CALOR VILLAGE OF THE YEARŽ COMPETITION 2007/2008 
Today - 24th April 2008 - we have been visited by Ruth Pascoe and Ann Gibbons, Regional Judges.  We were blessed with lovely weather, huge enthusiasm from all who met the judges and we believe both Ruth and Ann left with some idea of the great village in which we live.  Very very many thanks to all of you who have worked so hard and put in the time to help us show the judges why we all so proud of our community.  We now must wait to see how well we have done against the other eight county winners in the West of England that we are being judged against in the Regional Competition - as always we will keep you posted!
